Singing In The Rain

Lord, I am yours
Show me where to go
Show me what to do
Lord, I am yours
Please give me the strength
To follow you

To follow you, my king
To follow you, my shepherd
To follow you with joy
To follow you forever

So, today was great. The last half hour was particularly good. Here in Michigan we’ve been under some severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings, so naturally I decided to take a chill pill by standing, spinning and otherwise frolicking in the rain. Actually, that is not what I would normally do, which is why today was so good. Normally I would stay inside and complain about the “terrible” weather and probably end up crying because I wish I had a boyfriend. That rain really did something for me today though. It was the most relaxed I’ve been in about EVER! I didn’t care that I was wet and my clothes were wet and I had showered less than 4 hours ago. It was just good. I decided to take a seat on a lawn chair while I was enjoying the wetness, and decided to sing. The words above are what came to me.

I don’t really understand why people think standing in the rain is so strange. For anyone who hasn’t done it, I highly recommend the experience! The sweet smell of the rain, the coolness on your skin… it’s like tears from heaven, sent to wash away the sadness in your spirit, to cleanse you from your troubles.
    Good stuff… for real! 😀

I like standing in rain sometimes, too.
Just not when I’m wearing a white shirt if you know what I mean ;]
