My Perfect Day

Tonight, I was asked by a friend what my perfect day would be. Here is what I came up with (please excuse the poor punctuation):

Alright, so it probably takes place on a Saturday in late September, maybe October before the first snowflakes have fallen, the trees are filled with beautiful colors the air is nice and crisp, and the grass is just barely hanging on to its green hue – oh, and I’m married. The day begins at around 10 a.m. with a shower, and then a breakfast of pancakes, sausage (maybe eggs) and orange juice. After breakfast, my husband and I rinse the dishes together and then cuddle up on the couch while we do our daily reading.

On this particular day, we’re probably reading something about love and just enjoying being with each other. We do little things here and there around the house… maybe I do some dusting and he changes our car’s oil or works on a shelf he’s been building and we eat a light lunch. Later in the afternoon, we take a walk down by the river and through the park with his arm around me, stopping to take pictures (lots of us together, and he takes lots of me because he thinks I’m the most beautiful woman in the world) and then we stop at the playground and play and he pushes me on the swings and we have contests to see who can swing higher – that is until the swing almost breaks and we laugh and move on with our walk.

By this time, it’s getting closer to supper time so we grab a picnic basket with all the necessities including apples and juice and a nice blanket and we sit on a hill top that affords a view of a beautiful lake or ocean and watch the sunset as we cuddle, laugh, reminisce and he plays a song he wrote just for me on his acoustic guitar. After watching the stars come up, we head back to our house where we read a few psalms and then drift into a blissful sleep

yeah *sigh* it could be a problem… the number of romantic men out there is dwindling (or was never very high to begin with)

I think it’s a perfectly realistic dream. The only concern I have is that your time on the swings did not include and “Under-Doggie”

    😉

haha… maybe if my husband is short that would work, otherwise we’d need a really tall swing set 🙂
