Ode to the Toilet

I just want to let you know
I’m so glad that you’re here
Cause ya know, without you
I’d have dirty underwear

I use you every day
Sometimes once and sometimes more
But oh this love we share
Is behind a closed door

You’ve been my friend
Since I was two
When mommy would reward me
For spending time with you
You save me from embarrassment
When we meet within your room
Oh toilet
I love you

You never mind me being sick
And I don’t thank you like I should
So I think I’ll scrub you bowl to brim
I know Martha Stewart would

You’ve been my friend
Since I was two
When mommy would reward me
For spending time with you
You save me from embarrassment
When we meet within your room
Oh toilet- Beautiful toilet
I love you

So, this is my poem for today. Last night I was thinking about getting back into writing poetry, but it was too late to start, so I decided to wait until today, though I expected it to be a much more serious topic such as love or life or God or something. My love for the toilet is true though. I am so happy that I don’t have to “go” outside. It is such a magnificent invention!

Also, after listening to Phil’s song on Aly’s site, I felt pretty pathetic posting this, because God is far more sing-aboutable than a porcelain molding that we release fecal matter into. But then again, PRAISE GOD THAT WE HAVE TOILETS!

    HA HA HA HA HA
This is great. I love it. I have written and read some spurious odes but this takes the (urinal) cake.
    Great stuff.

Sense of humor is also a gift from God ..and this poem is a good example of humorous poetry. “So whether you eat or drink, do all to the glory of God” .. i think you’ve used your creativity to His glory.

haha, so singing about my love for toilet glorifies God? I guess I’ll take that ^_^ Thanks

Ah, yes… a bowl that I use every day, seldom before I eat, but generally after! Well done, my friend! 😀

thank you :-)… I don’t suppose you would want to use this bowl for eating either… though many animals don’t mind it for drinking. It also makes a good burial for fish.
