Lord Is That You

Lord is that you
Your arms around me
As I sleep within your love
Lord is that you
You arms embrace me
And I can’t help but wonder
Why you’d come to comfort
A sinner who’s under the law
——————–
This was all I got before I fell asleep last night. It was good to feel that God was with me, just holding me in his arms despite all my wretchedness. I would like to finish this, but I don’t think I can until I feel the same way I felt last night. If any of you get that feeling, feel free to take a crack at adding to it.

Wow, I think it’s finished!
However, if you want the poetic banter…I’d be happy to take a crack at it.
…I dream of Your works in awe
Lord is that you?
That keeps me protected
When I walk in wayward ways
Seemingly lost for days
When my vision is blurred by the haze?
Lord is that you
Holding my hand
When my palms are sweaty and cold
When I’m weak are You standing there bold?
Lord, if it’s You then break my mold
Take me, reshape me, I’m sold.
Let me know what you think….
Later,
Porterfield
