The Sunlight

Oh my love, oh my love, how my heart longs
for you since the day has gone
Oh my love, oh my love, how my tears flood
for you since the night has come

The sunlight sleeps, and the night air creeps
And the frost chills to the bone
The stars don’t shine and the broken hearts pine
For the love they used to know

Oh my love, oh my love, where did I go wrong?
How did I lose your love?
Oh my love, oh my love, where did my prince go?
Wasn’t my heart enough?

The sunlight sleeps, and the night air creeps
And the frost chills to the bone
The stars don’t shine and the broken hearts pine
For the love they used to know

Will you come back here
Past the cold dispair
Where you know I’d be willing to die for you
Will you leave regret
In the past that’s set
Because you have to know, I’m willing to live for you

Can the sunlight wake and the night air break
When you hear my voice
Can the love flood in and the poor ones win
When you make your choice

I wrote this a while ago, when I still had hope that the one I considered “my love” would return to me. That time is past and I’ll have to move on, but I still like the rhythm of this, so I’m gonna post it anyway.

I also think I’ll try to get this on audio, but that might take awhile (technology doesn’t always like me).

And now that I’ve posted something less than hilarious, here is I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred:

    ANon,

You’re a nut!…with the follow up by Right Said Fred. I used to be ‘Too Sexy’, now I’m just held at arm’s length by the one’s I wish to know (better).

I can relate to you on your poem. I like it and would love to hear the audio. I’ll be patient. Technology wants money from me before I can record anymore. Luckily I went crazy one night and posted a weeks worth of Timestamp ending this coming Friday. Maybe I’ll money before then.

    Later,

    Porterfield

p.s.- You move on…stronger now than then.

    Hey there!

Just stumbled across your blog looking up Relient K tabs. Love the way ‘The Sunlight’ flows – got a great rhythm to it and good words!

Keith- I actually did get the audio up, it’s on Purevolume. I have a link to it on the page Audio Schtuffs. I couldn’t find a way to post it right on my page, so I just posted it on Purevolume. Yay! Freeness!

Christine- Thank you. I thought it flowed rather nicely too. Relient K rocks! ^_^
