Fantabulous Friday

April 18, 2008

So, today is Friday! Hurray for the weekend! My sister and her family are coming to visit this weekend from Wisconsin, so I get to see 2 very cute little boys and one absolutely adorable little girl… and then their parents whom I love! I’m gonna give soooo many hugs this weekend! They’re coming because they decided they were going to visit in April and they chose this weekend because tomorrow is my birthday. As of tomorrow night, I will no longer be a teenager, but I’ll still be a child ^_^ (I never plan on changing that). Tonight will be my hanging out time though, as we have 2 softball games and have to finish up one we began on Wednesday. I’m hoping we come away with 3 wins. I also have a couple games on Sunday too, so my family that is visiting will be leaving for home before I return from them.

lalala… I can’t put a coherent thought together right now. It’s probably because it’s sort of early and I’m not good at multi-tasking. Anyway, I think I’ll turn my music off and try to write a little something for y’all.

You are beautiful, beautiful
More beautiful than I have ever seen
Wonderful, wonderful
More than this life that you give to me
I am yours, I am yours
Every day I’ll learn to seek your face
You are Lord, you are Lord
Nothing else will ever take your place

And I’ll sing to you
Because you’ve given me this voice
And I’ll lift you up
Your love gives me no other choice
Win or lose, Lord
I’m always in your hands
To me it’s all the same
And I’ll give glory to your name
With every breath I breathe
Your joy will never leave
And you are beautiful
And I love you

I’m not sure how the rest of that song goes, but I can assure you that it’s pretty rocking awesome. I so need to learn to play an instrument so that I can write music to some of this stuff.

First MI Game

April 2, 2008

Hey y’all! My softball team has our first home game for 2008. We play against Kellogg Community College (I think). Hopefully, we’ll come away from this double header with 2 wins, and if we get a head start early, I might even get some playing time ^_^ Prayers are always nice too. I would ask that you pray for our success as well as our continued health, as we’ll be playing softball nearly every day for the next few weeks. I’ll still try to get on here a bunch, but if softball prevents it, I’ll still be thinking about and praying for you! And now to leave you with some entertainment…

my type of men right there ;-)

We came, we played, we kicked some major butt! And by ‘we’ of course I mean my amazing teammates ^_^  They scored almost 10 homeruns in the first game, and scored some more homeruns in the second game. This was against the team that I had the bad dream about - the one that beat us. Luckily such was not the case today, and I showed up in my uniform ready to play ;-)

Blessed Beyond

March 22, 2008

I’m so blessed to have people advise me and encourage me. So many people have helped me more than words can describe and I just am so thankful that God has placed these people in my life. Now that they’ve allowed God to speak through them, I’m gonna be talking with the Big Man himself, and He’s gonna take me through the procedure that gives him the glory.

This is a song that I feel can be applied to my situation somewhat. Hate was not a part of my situation, but I feel that the last verse of this song is a good thing to keep in mind.

Hope Has A Way - Scott Krippayne

Hey you, with your fist balled up tight
Against your brother
Hey you, with the hate in your heart
For anotherIt’s no suprise that you struggle inside
Playing tug-o-war with your stubborn pride
Remember

Hope has a way
Of breaking thorugh walls
Of bridging the gap between us all
There isn’t a problem
Too great or too small
Hope has a way, hope has a way

How come we throw words like stones
Against each other
And how long before we begin
To love one another

Haven’t we learned from
The mistakes we’ve made
That without forgiveness
There is no change, but

Let’s not forget that what binds us is greater
Than anything that keeps us apart
We’re all the children of the same loving Father
Let us stand together serving heart to heart

WOah-OH!

March 12, 2008

This time I learned that I knew it all along!

“It’s good to taste defeat, then brush my teeth” :-) I don’t know… I just love Relient K ^_^ and banging my head against the wall while listening to “Forward Motion” for the first time in probably about 2 years!

LOVE YOU RELIENT K!!!!

——————-

Alright, so that’s not a real post. I’ll give you a bit more substance than that. Tonight is my last night of Spring Training in Florida. We check out of the hotel at 5 a.m. tomorrow, so I think most of us girls will be pulling an all-nighter. We’ve had a good couple of weeks and have gone something like 11-1. Our one loss came from Iowa Central with a score of 1-0. I’d like to point out though, that if we hadn’t been playing on a slow-pitch field, we would have had at least 2 homeruns - making us win. Oh well. We only played 2 good teams while we were here: Iowa Central was one, and then there was also a travel team from Canada. We scored something like 120 runs in this tournament and only had 4 scored on us. I think that’s pretty sweet. My team is good like that. I can’t imagine what it would be like playing on a team where I didn’t expect to win after playing at LCC. I’m surrounded by a bunch of great athletes, and a terrific coaching staff that really cares about us. I don’t know what will be next for me, but one thing is certain, playing for Coach Every has been a wonderful part of my life.

Maybe I can get some poetry up here sometime… sit down with a notebook and write something good…. maybe y’all can give me some inspiration ^_^

Ten Miles Wide - Solomon’s Wish

February 27, 2008

Not intending to mislead her
But idolatry, like a fever,
Was burning her up unaware
He was everything and anything
And nothing could ever bring him down

And so it goes, pedestals only stand so long
Where was her faith when he was gone

CHORUS:
Ten miles wide and one inch deep
An endless surface with nothing underneath
Underneath her vast exterior
Her depth was proven to be inferior
Her faith was ten miles wide and one inch deep

In the wake of disillusion
Left searching for solution
She was forced to redefine
All of the things she would never have to question

And so it goes, pedestals only stand so long
She’s looking for a faith that goes beyond…

CHORUS

And now she knows, pedestals only stand so long
She’s looking for a faith that goes beyond…

CHORUS
———————————————-

True story. I guess I’m not the only one who’s been in that situation before. Before I knew it, I was letting someone become my everything- inadvertantly placing the adoration that belonged to God alone in the hands of a mere man. I know there’s something to be said for love and sacrafice in a relationship, but God not only should be on top, He needs to be on Top.

Although, I won’t allow man to be an idol for me, I will still be obedient and submissive to my husband (God willing). What a joy it would be to sit at his feet and wash them - that I may be a servant and a representative of Christ for him. *sigh* All in His time :-)

Letting Go

February 25, 2008

I’m letting go
I’m giving in
No more waiting
No more sin
My heart is open
Remove my doubt
Give me desire to know
What you’re about

I’m letting go
You have my life
My joy, my love
My pain, my strife
You have my thoughts
And all I bring
Take my silence
Let my life sing

I’m letting go
Of all I desire
All that’s left
Is consuming fire
I’m letting go
Lord, take my heart
Give this sinner
A brand new start

Todays Playlist and a few words

February 22, 2008

Starting off my 3 song life (as of today) story was Audio Adrenaline with “The Good Life.” The strong messege of this song reminds me that even when “the people that I’ve loved the most have turn their backs and ran” I still have the good life, because I have Jesus, and he’s all that matters. This song got chased down with a good dose of “Getting Into You” by Relient K reminding me that God’s not concerned with what I’ve done in the past, but what I will do with the life that he is giving me. Finally, I sat back and reflected on the way my heart attitude is changed and how I can agree with Brandon Heath in that “I’m Not Who I Was.”

Those are just a few songs that might help you relate to what I’ve been feeling lately, but I’ve been singing and jumping around for joy because The Afters are still making me happy with Myspace Girl ^_^ There’s something else that’s been making me jump around and be happy lately too, but I hardly think it’s blog material. If ya want to know you can always e-mail me or whatever :-)

Anyways, this is a little something I wrote on a coupon thing from meijer the other day, because I thought of it while I was walking out of the store. It’s no where close to finished, but it might be good for a chorus or something. Here it is:

I want to walk with you
Until I can’t lift my feet
I want to sing your name
Driving down the street
I want to life you up
Like you’ve lifted me
Cause when you walk with me
Oh, you set me free

 —–edit——–

Oh yeah, and I get to volunteer at our Regional Science Olympiad tomorrow! w00t! Hurray for hanging out with a bunch of geeks and nerds, and ex-chemistry teacher ^_^ I’m so blessed!

Wait - The Afters

February 21, 2008

Sometimes when you’re listening to you mp3 player on shuffle, it plays just the song you need to hear … *sighs*

 ———-

I have a friend who can play this on his guitar… I think he’s getting pretty good at it too
