Water Chestnuts and Moving Out
This afternoon I got to spend a couple hours with my good friend, Kait. Kait was homeschooled for most of her life, but joined the public school system for her last 2 years. She road the same bus as I and we had French class together. With two other funny, dorky boys in our class we formed the most random, fun, quirky group that has ever graced the seats of Madame’s class. We half payed attention while laughing at inside jokes and making movie and song references over the silliest things. Those were the good old days, the high school days. Now, we’ve been out of high school for 2 years and everyone is going their own way. The 2 boys have found their place at Grand Valley State University and will likely continue down that path remaining the good friends that they always were. Kait and her boyfriend will be moving down to Virginia to attend school there and begin the growing-up process. I myself will be furthering my education in Ohio, putting me miles away from my 3 best high school friends. As Relient K informed me in their song “Hoopes I Did It Again,” Ohio has the flavor of a water chestnut. Personally, I’ve never tasted Ohio, but I dare say I will find the atmosphere at Waterchestnutville more enjoyable than that of any sort of Chestnut. So, here’s to my wonderful friend Kait, whom I love: may your days be filled with a passion for God and the mountains always be beautiful!
