Midnight Study on Ephesians 2

Ephesians 2:3-5
“All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgression – it is by grace you have been saved.”

Ephesians 2:10
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

* we were by nature objects of wrath, but now we are created in Christ to do good works. We are designed anew by God because of his mercy and grace. *

Ephesians 2:20
“[you are] built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.”

Ephesians 2:21-22
“In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

The foundation has been built
Now we form together
Building up this temple
The dwelling place of God
Christ, the tested stone
Holds us through the ages
As grace conquers sin
And downs walls of separation
In Him we are one
No longer two by law
In Him our temple grows
Adoption makes us brothers
And brother, what is better
Than giving love to one another
